The plastic side panels on our Window AC deteriorated over time so we ordered these panels and installed them yesterday. We have a small window AC. To install these panels, you will need to remove the old plastic sides. Our AC had 4 screws in each side panel and they were easily removed. Once the sides are off, you cut the hard plastic channels that will be affixed to the AC. They are designed to hold the foam panels and must be cut to the height of the AC. They are made of a very hard plastic. The instructions tell you that you can cut them with scissors but this is nearly impossible. We tried a short set of scissors and then a long set - neither worked. We wound up using sheet metal scissors and they worked perfectly. We were surprised that the peel-the-back adhesive stuck so nicely. The foam panels are each 9" in width and they fit perfectly in our window. You do not cut the width of the foam panels, you only cut the height. They are 9" wide so it might be best to measure before you purchase. Overall, the foam panels look nice and it was a very inexpensive way to make the AC look great.

Should have done this last year when we installed our AC. We still had gaps with the original accordian panels. These solved the issue and made a noticeable difference by providing extra insulation. Our AC did not need to work as hard to cool our living room this year. These were easy to trim to size and install. I did use a small coping saw to cut the plastic channels. You also need to make sure the window is clean for the adhesive to stick properly. Looks wise, it won’t make the AC surround pretty but it works.

I love this product! Super eady to install and solved the problem of gaps between the air conditioner and the window.

Fantastic product to winterize in the window air conditioners so we don't have to take them out of our apartment windows. I can't wait to see how they help keep the cold air in this summer too. There really was a noticeable difference in the drafts and warmth staying in the room after installing these. I no longer feel a breeze or cold air coming in, now that I have these and an insulated bag installed over our units.

Easily cut to size. Not much to say. I'm not sure if it'll actually help with insulation values, but it sure looks like it will. And if definitely looks like it will be able to block any holes to keep bugs out which was my sole purpose in purchasing this. Definitely disappointed in my brother though as after I spent hours perfecting the insulation around the air conditioner so no bugs would be able to crawl in, he dismantles my masterpiece to move the AC to his room.....

The Duck Brand Air Conditioner Foam Insulators are great! A couple years back I tried the Frost King Side Panels and the quality did not compare. The directions were not clear and the foam was much thinner. I couldn't even use them. Last year I only used cardboard and you can imagine how that worked out. The quality of Duck Brand is second to none. I installed mine outside within minutes. The foam is thick and sturdy, but cuts down very nicely. It will definitely prove much better protection against weather and insects. I will definitely be repurchasing next summer!

Pretty easy to install and insulates extremely well. I would note, however, that it takes a little more effort than the packaging would lead you to believe to cut everything to the correct size. The hard plastic pieces that grip the foam insulation sheets are pretty firm. I ended up having to use a boxcutter to make initial indentations and then a pair of heavy-duty scissors to finish the cut.

These are great. I was skeptical about cutting them to size but even cutting the plastic was super easy. They look great and make it so I don't have cardboard on the sides of my AC unit. ha. Nice replacement if you've lost or broken your side panels.

I love these insulating panels because they are firm enough to stay if I cut them the right size and stick them on all sides of my AC. I have a recessed window so I can stuff the space between the wall and the AC with this insulation without using adhesive-just the friction alone keeps them in place.

I love this stuff. I zip tie it to the back of every fan that I buy. Keeps the fan, and the air, clean.
